February 2026: Underground YA, a writing workshop and critique group in NYC, celebrates its 7th Anniversary!
“Underground YA” began in February 2019 as a writing workshop and critique group focused on written work for Young Adults, but over seven years, the group has broadened to include all audience age ranges. It meets every week in the heart of Manhattan, and also hosts open writing nights, guest author speakers, and query/synopsis letter workshops.
*Meetings are currently held both remotely and in person.
We are a diverse and inclusive group, and welcome new voices. No professional writing experience is needed to join. Our mission includes providing publishing knowledge and resources to un-agented, unpublished, and traditionally excluded writers. All folks welcome.
